Invisalign aligners are made from SmartTrack, a proprietary multi-layer thermoplastic material developed specifically for Invisalign. The material is clear, BPA-free and trimmed to the natural contour of the gum line for comfort. Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders need to be disclosed and assessed before Invisalign treatment begins. In many cases Invisalign treatment can proceed with careful planning and monitoring. Yes, when carried out under the supervision of a qualified dental professional. The whitening agents used in professional treatment are safe and effective at the concentrations applied in a clinical setting. Over-the-counter whitening products used without dental supervision carry a higher risk of misuse, uneven results and damage to existing restorations.
