About Dr Nikhil Oberai
Dr Nikhil Oberai has been at the heart of Brunner Court since he and Dr Natasja Kashyap took over the practice in 2014. What began as a general dental practice with a strong local reputation has grown, under his clinical leadership, into one of Cheshire’s most respected implant centres.
Implant dentistry is not a sideline for Dr Nikhil. It is the focus of his professional life. He completed his MSc in Implant Dentistry at the University of Manchester, one of the most rigorous implant training programmes in the UK, and has spent the years since building a caseload that ranges from routine single tooth replacements through to some of the most clinically complex full arch cases in the region. Patients travel to Brunner Court from across Cheshire and the wider North West specifically because of his expertise and his track record.
He is known for being direct and honest with patients. He will tell you what is possible, what is not, and what he would recommend, without overselling or rushing you into a decision. For many of his patients, particularly those who have been told elsewhere that implants are not an option, that combination of skill and candour has made a significant difference.
Outside the practice, Dr Nikhil lectures on implantology to dentists across the UK, serves as a Key Opinion Leader for Osstem UK and acts as an Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Manchester. He also mentors implant clinicians through the Cambridge Implant Academy and the University of Manchester MSc programme. The same standards he holds himself to in practice are what he teaches.

Dr Nikhil’s clinical focus is implant dentistry in all its forms, from straightforward single tooth replacements through to complex full arch cases that require preparatory bone grafting or sinus lift procedures. He also carries out general dental work as part of the practice’s wider offering.

A note on complex cases
A meaningful proportion of Dr Nikhil’s implant patients come to Brunner Court having been told elsewhere that implants are not possible. The most common reason is insufficient bone, a natural consequence of teeth being missing for some time.
Bone loss does not automatically rule out implants. In many cases it simply means preparatory work is needed first. Dr Nikhil carries out bone grafting and sinus lift procedures in-house, without referral to an external surgical centre, and has successfully placed implants for patients who had been advised against them at other practices.
If you have been given that advice, it is worth a second opinion. A free consultation will establish what is actually possible in your specific case.
"Nik and the team were exceptional. I came in about a missing tooth and 12 months later I have two fantastic implants that look and feel like real teeth."
